Make Sunsets Monthly: New Ideas

Make Sunsets Monthly: New Ideas

Revenue: $10,946
Burn: $28,136
Cash: $787,227
Runway: ~15 months

New year, and new ideas needed: we're not growing nearly enough to stay in business for the long-term, let alone Cool Earth by .5C this decade. Revenue for the year was $137,905, up 37% from last year. We're grateful to every customer for this, and now we need ideas to grow faster. Please reply with anything we might try to sell Cooling Credits that we haven't... and anything else vaguely related that you think businesses will buy at a substantial scale. We're not going away any time soon, but/and we need to do way more.

Sales slumped from last month by $3,592. And, the enterprise deal we expected to close hasn’t happened, yet.

Technical progress continues: we've got a substantially better balloon tracker designed. It'll be a product we sell soon. And, we received our first patent. We're sharing it with you and anyone else who wants to use it.

And, we've tried some new things to explain solar geoengineering:

TLDR: solar geoengineering is our only realistic hope for materially cooling earth during our lifetime. Please share anywhere you think these might resonate.

This month, we will:
- Close our first 6-figure commercial customer
- Speak at 3 companies, convincing employees at each to buy Cooling Credits
- Get our better balloon tracker fabricated + flying
- Test a modified plane for potential use seeding clouds

Is there anyway you could pivot into a atmospheric sensor/data company that sells data or access to atmospheric sensors and then you use ballon launches as dual purpose vehicle that is a sensor + global cooling?

Oise

I think it’d be potentially effective to run more targeted advertisements and increase awareness of your organization. I have personally never heard about you guys and only came across you by chance on an obscure reddit thread. I think there’re many like me out there who will happily get a subscription if they know about it. For what matters, I think your scientific evidence and arguments are very convincing, so maybe you can start the ad by challenging the idea that geoengineering is bad.
Also, I think it’ll be a good idea to tune down the tech startup vibes on the about page and shape yourselves towards the direction of a nonprofit. For various reasons, I think tech startup bros are some of the most unliked and untrusted people by the general population at this moment, especially amongst climate-conscious people. Good luck and thanks for doing cool work!
