With great emissions comes great responsibility. I don't care how electric your car is; if you're wealthy enough to have disposable time and income to spend on Cooling Earth, you are here because of immense historical emissions. The carbon debt you inherited is the reason you can even afford to think about this.

If you are an American and this makes you feel like you personally are 27 times as much to blame for global warming as the average Indian, welcome to the club:)
The wealthiest countries are hiding behind consensus: "we can't possibly Cool Earth until everyone agrees." This is a convenient, permanent excuse for bureaucrats to continue flying to conferences where they toast each other's fake promises to take decisive action on climate change.
The wealthiest have led the way with negative geoengineering; we literally have the high quality of life we do because of it. Now, we have an obligation to lead the way with positive geoengineering: giving the earth's thermostat a down button. We don't have to personally, individually save the world. But, we should at the least create more cooling than warming over the course of our individual lives... and encourage others to do the same.

Politics blah blah blah: too often, theoretical political ramifications are an excuse for inaction. It's up to us to take direct action to Cool Earth, not appeal to some politician somewhere to someday maybe commission a study about perception of maybe doing something.

We can do something controversial and prevent catastrophic global warming... or we can continue researching someday maybe something. Which will you choose?
