Make Sunsets Monthly: Deploying Widely

[We originally sent the following to our mailing list subscribers 10/31/24. Added to website 11/7/24.]

Revenue: $11,621
Burn: $24,698
Cash: $1,036,176
Runway: ~29 months

We deployed over 8,000 Cooling Credits, including some from Maker Faire. We minted ~100 new geoengineers, too:

And, a 2kg calcium carbonate balloon from a very windy hotel at a controversial conference:

Our "office" is functional: we've upgraded from Andrew's family RV to a mobile, solar-powered, balloon-launching company trailer. If you're in the Bay area and would like to join for a launch, let us know.

Sales were on the cusp of our goal, and Andrew just received a verbal commitment from someone for a large order to put us over the top.

Almost but not quite on web redesign and corporate/government customer: website will be updated within next week, and corp/gov remains in progress but unclear on timing.

This month, we will:
Attempt 3 deployments via polyethylene + hydrogen balloons. This will let us drop our cost per flight dramatically and show a scalable balloon-based path.
Get more people's attention. The more people learn about solar geoengineering, the more likely they are to buy Cooling Credits.
$14,000 in sales
Close a government/corporate contract

Launching balloons anywhere that invites us,
Andrew and Luke
